Robert L. Dabney was a Civil War era
theologian, Southern Presbyterian pastor, and Confederate Army
chaplain. He was also chief of staff and a biographer for Stonewall
Jackson. He and James Thornwell were Southern Presbyterian's two
most influential scholars. His reformed theology is solid except
for his aberrant views on Antebellum slavery. He
mistakenly and incomprehensibly thought it was supportable!
Someone once said to me, "Ten percent of everyone's theology is
heresy." That only emphasizes the need to make Scripture our only
rule of faith and practice.
