Evangelicalism is many
things, but mostly it has become an ecumenical movement which is
generally trans or non-denominational. I'm tempted to
label it neutralist in its theology based on its penchant for
doctrinal neutrality and pluralism. It hasn't always been
indifferent to theology. But what Evangelicalism started out to be (a
conservative reaction to Liberalism), is not what it has become (an
anti-intellectual, activist, political faction). It's not exactly
the Democrats' Rainbow
Coalition, but it's close.
The articles here
address who we are as evangelicals, and where we're going. They
include such diverse topics as social change, the Emergent Church
Movement, the demise of Traditionalism, and the alleged demise of
Foundationalism. The focal point is Christ's Church in the
Postmodern World.
